At Dental Aura, Wellingborough's trusted private dental practice, our dentists design and fit veneers that look natural, feel comfortable, and are built to last.

We've been delivering private dentistry in Wellingborough and across Northamptonshire since 2014, and porcelain veneers are one of our most popular cosmetic treatments. Patients travel to us from Kettering, Rushden, Northampton, and Higham Ferrers for exactly this.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain fitted over the front of a tooth to improve its colour, shape, position or size. They're often used where a tooth is discoloured or chipped, where there are gaps between teeth, or where a tooth needs reshaping, and can produce a dramatic improvement in appearance while removing very little of the natural tooth.

The benefits:
Natural-looking, porcelain is shade-matched to your other teeth
Minimally invasive, only a small amount of tooth is prepared
Long-lasting, durable and stain-resistant
Fast results, usually completed in two visits
Guaranteed, all our veneers are guaranteed for 1 year

Am I a Good Candidate for Porcelain Veneers in Wellingborough?

Veneers work well for a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including discoloured or stained teeth, chipped or worn teeth, gaps between teeth, and teeth that are an uneven shape or size.

If your teeth are very uneven or crooked rather than a shape or colour concern, your dentist may suggest orthodontic treatment as an alternative. The best way to find out what's right for you is an initial consultation with our team.

Your Porcelain Veneers Journey in Wellingborough

1. Initial Consultation: we assess your teeth and discuss your goals, including whether a veneer, crown or composite veneer is the best option for you.
2. Tooth Preparation: a local anaesthetic is normally given, then your dentist removes a small amount of the outer enamel so the veneer will bond securely. An impression of your teeth is taken and the shade of your adjacent teeth recorded for a perfect match.
3. Laboratory Fit: your impression and shade details are sent to a specialist dental laboratory, who carefully construct your veneer to fit perfectly with your other teeth.
4. Fitting: about one to two weeks later, we check your new veneer for fit and shade before bonding it securely in place with a special bonding agent.

Porcelain Veneers FAQs

Why would I need a veneer?
This might be necessary where a tooth is discoloured or chipped, where there are gaps between your teeth, where teeth do not look straight or if there is a need to change the shape of a tooth in a major way. Veneers can produce dramatic improvements in appearance while very little tooth material is removed.
How long does a veneer last?
A veneer should last for many years. We are confident of the quality of our veneers so we guarantee them for 1 year.
What does a veneer cost?
Private porcelain veneers cost from £440.00.
How does the dentist prepare a tooth for a veneer?
An injection of local anaesthetic is normally required. Your dentist will remove a little of the outer enamel of the tooth so that the veneer will bond securely in place. Next, your dentist will take an "impression" (i.e. make a mould) of your teeth and record the shade of the adjacent teeth so that the veneer is a perfect match. Only a very small amount of tooth is removed in the preparation process, so a temporary veneer probably won’t be needed while the permanent veneer is being made.
What happens next?
The impression and shade information are passed to a specialist dental laboratory. Using this information, they will carefully construct the veneer to ensure that it fits in perfectly with your other teeth. About a week or two after your first appointment your dentist will see you for a second time to check that your new veneer is a good fit and that the shade is a good match for your other teeth. The veneer is then fixed in place using a special bonding agent.
Are there any alternatives to veneers?
Yes. Your dentist might be able to use a crown or a composite veneer. Whether these are suitable depends on the condition of the tooth. If veneers are being considered to correct uneven teeth or teeth that do not look straight, orthodontic treatment may be a better alternative.
